APRIL 2018 OFFICIAL SELECTION
A film by Nina Hiraoka
"PHOBOS is an unfiltered, raw look into the deep fear that grows within a human being when persecution and violence have become an everyday experience. A beautifully shot look into love and trauma. A must see."
-MOONFAZE FEMINIST FILM JOURNAL
Debra and her girlfriend Alma have just moved in to the small and quiet suburbs. Now, they hope to start over away from violence and persecution, but Debra soon realizes there's something weird happening in the streets at night.
A note from the filmmaker:
We, the whole crew of PHOBOS, went to college in a really small town in the middle of nowhere, and our classes were at night. After 9:30pm there would be nobody on the streets but us, and it always felt like everyone could tell we were outsiders. Soon started the rumors about bizarre encounters the students would have late at night with the habitants, and the moment we began wondering, the story of Phobos emerged.
